DISCOVER GAY GAMES
The Gay Games or World Diversity Games are the world ́s largest and most important multi-sport and cultural event for the LGBTQ+ community and all allies, held every 4 years, where everyone can be, express themselves and live without fear.
They are born with the purpose of creating safe spaces for the active participation of all athletes around the world regardless of gender, sex, sexual orientation, race, religion, nationality, ethnic origin, physical and mental abilities or even beliefs.
It´s founder, Dr. Tom Waddell, created the Games in 1982, held for the first time in San Francisco, California, in the United States, with the purpose of promoting equality, inclusion, and diversity through sport and culture and thus contributing to reduce the gasp that prevented (and prevent today) the access to violence-free spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and the full exercise of their personality.
Similarly, the Gay Games invite us to rethink the values and practices that prevail in various sports, where people of sexual diversity (LGBTIQ+ populations) are condemned from stigmatization, mockery, segregation, exclusion and even physical violence. It is an opportunity for an entire city, an entire country and beyond our borders to promote safe and diverse sports and cultural spaces, spaces that promote equality and non-discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
For this reason, some institutions and public and private entities in Jalisco have designed strategies to train the staff of the sports centers where the competitions will take place, the hotel and restaurant sector of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (GMA), sports clubs, agencies of the three levels of government, public transportation personnel and private transportation apps.
The Games also contribute to the construction of a more fair and egalitarian society and through sport we show people that social and cultural barriers can be broken, that differences can be overcome and that it is possible to build community. Hosting the 11th edition of the Gay Games is a unique opportunity for our city and our state, it is an opportunity to change the lives of many people and motivate them to achieve their goals.
Be part of history and participate in the Gay Games XI Guadalajara 2023. You only have to consider 3 important points:

You must be 18 years old or older at the time of registration.
02.
Amateur and professional sports athletes are welcome. It is not required to be a professional or high performance athlete.
03.
It is an event for everyone, it is not necessary to belong to the LGBTQ+ community to participate.
